Recognized by Poets&Quants as one of the ten best MBA admissions consultants of 2018, Kate Richardson first began building her admissions know-how while a student at the University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. There, she was a member of the Dean’s Student Admissions Committee, tasked with evaluating applications and interviewing candidates. She also coached first-year students on crafting strong resumes and developing interviewing skills as a Student Career Advisor. After graduating from Chicago Booth, Kate was a principal for more than six years at Axiom Consulting Partners, a boutique management consulting firm focused on aligning strategy, organization, and talent, where she not only supported clients in financial services, nonprofit, technology, and higher education, but also co-managed Axiom’s recruiting process, perfecting her ability to identify effective resumes and qualified candidates from the top MBA programs. In addition, she worked in talent management for a time for Pepco Energy Services and KPMG in Washington, DC. Having herself successfully switched careers, she is committed to helping others achieve their own personal career goals. Kate, who also holds a BS in psychology from the University of Illinois, currently lives in South Carolina.
Kate challenged me to increase the personalization of my essays and I could clearly feel that she was an advocate of mine; she did everything she could to bring out the best in my application to Chicago Booth.
From the very beginning I could feel that her interest in helping me was genuine. She assured me that I had a unique and compelling story to tell, and that the GMAT is not the end all be all component of an application. Thanks to her help, I was admitted to every school I applied to in round one, with substantial scholarships from some.
