I am fascinated by our applicants because everyone (yes, everyone!) has a story. I try to keep brainstorming fun and positive so that my clients open up and the serious business of applying to MBA programs becomes very light. I am an informal person and employ humor to ensure that those around me feel at ease, yet I am fully invested, demanding, and dissatisfied when applicants deliver anything less than their best. What that means is that as easygoing as I might be, I am not afraid to push for more. As a former speechwriter, I am entirely willing to tear an essay apart, and as an experienced consultant, I know that candidates benefit from a very healthy dose of honesty when they are not putting in the necessary effort. I enjoy being a partner to my applicants on this journey and find that I am able to reach new levels with my most demanding clients.

As a 20-year veteran of the field and the author of two books on MBA admissions, I have a depth of experience that is virtually unparalleled in this arena. However, beyond my perspective, I am also a professional writer at heart, having penned speeches for the Ambassador of Israel to the United States to start my career, published a business ethics case while an MBA student at the Darden School at the University of Virginia (where I was class graduation speaker as well), and written articles for numerous magazines and websites.
