MBA News: The WSJ on the Advantages of the European MBA

In an article entitled “An MBA with Savoir Faire,” the Wall Street Journal extols the virtues of the European MBA, identifying the following advantages:

  • Shorter programs of 10-16 months mean that students have lower tuition and living expenses
  • Students gain access to a more profound international network
  • European programs are less dependent on the financial firms for hiring and thus have greater diversity at a time when it is needed

The WSJ notes that European MBA programs are seeing an increasing number of American applicants. It will be interesting to see whether this is a temporary trend that coincides with the faltering economy or whether this represents a permanent change. We predict the latter; time will tell…
