At most top business schools, aspiring MBAs apply in one of three application rounds: Round 1 in September or October, Round 2 in January, and Round 3 in March or April.

Deadlines vs. Decision Dates

The chart below lists both the MBA application deadlines—a deadline being the date by which you must submit your application for that particular business school—and decision dates—a decision date being the date by which you will be notified whether you have been accepted, waitlisted, or rejected—for the leading business schools. Most top MBA programs also have specific interview invitation dates, which typically fall several weeks after their deadlines.

Some MBA programs also offer early decision or early action deadlines, which are noted in the chart under Round 1 but highlighted: Columbia Business School, Duke Fuqua, Georgetown McDonough, Notre Dame Mendoza, Ohio Fisher, and UVA Darden.
