MBA News: HBS Admissions Director Blogs About Interviews

The “blogosphere” is certainly facilitating greater transparency in the admissions process. The other day, HBS Admissions Director, Dee Leopold posted a blog entry, anticipating candidates’ anxiety about interview invitations and thus clarifying some concerns in advance. According to Ms. Leopold, interview invitations will start being released on November 12, a “significant majority” will be released during the week of the 17th and then additional invitations will be released up until and on the decision notification date. According to Ms. Leopold, the timing of the interview invitation is not relevant and that you will not be consider a weaker candidate, if you were invited later on. While this kind of transparency is welcome, we assume that candidates will no doubt continue to doubt its veracity. We encourage you not to be skeptical and take the information at face value.
