Georgetown’s McDonough School has received a $20 million gift in memory of the late Rafik B. Hariri, two-time Prime Minister of Lebanon, from his son, Saad Hariri, a ’92 graduate. The funds will be used to help cover construction costs for the school’s new building which will open in September, and to create an endowment fund for two scholarships associated with the school. Amid an uncertain economy, where endowments are shrinking, the Georgetown community is no doubt feeling especially fortunate to receive this gift.
