After losing Dean Ted Snyder to Yale and Rose Martinelli to its parent institution, Chicago Booth is back to adding staff. Today, in an email to students and alumni, the school announced that it has hired Stanford professor Sunil Kumar to assume the role of Dean, as of January 1, 2011. Kumar, an operations expert, currently oversees the MBA program at the Stanford GSB and was selected after a global search, conducted by Chicago Booth faculty. Kumar will have big shoes to fill, as Dean Snyder secured the massive Booth partnership and oversaw the school’s dramatic rise in the rankings.
