Each Wednesday, we profile a standout professor as identified by students. Today, we focus on <strong>Arthur Middlebrooks<\/strong>\u00a0from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mbamission.com\/guides\/insiders-guides\/chicago-booth-school-of-business-insiders-guide\/\">University of Chicago Booth<\/a> School of Business.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-9760\" style=\"margin: 5px;\" title=\"Arthur Middlebrooks\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mbamission.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/Arthur-Middlebrooks-214x300.jpg\" alt=\" width=\"171\" height=\"240\" align=\"right\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.mbamission.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/Arthur-Middlebrooks-214x300.jpg 214w, https:\/\/www.mbamission.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/08\/Arthur-Middlebrooks.jpg 250w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 171px) 100vw, 171px\" \/>A 1988 Chicago Booth alumnus, <strong>Arthur Middlebrooks<\/strong>\u00a0(\u201cMarketing of Services\u201d and \u201cDeveloping New Products and Services\u201d)\u00a0is also a management consultant who has helped multiple companies\u2014including the Bank of America, IBM Consulting and BP\/Amoco\u2014develop new products and services. With these experiences in hand, Middlebrooks is prepared to take students in his \u201cDeveloping New Products and Services\u201d class through the product development process, starting from scratch. In his class, rather than being instructed to dream up a product, students are given raw data and hold focus groups as they strive to identify a consumer need. Recently, students in this course conceptualized new bag products for Ziploc and presented their findings to a panel of entrepreneurs. Students with whom mbaMission spoke described Middlebrooks as innovative and gushed about his passion and energy.
