During the fall semester, first-year students are required to take \u201cStructure of Global Industries,\u201d an immersive core course that provides a foundation in international business. The global emphasis continues in the second year, when students take part in the school\u2019s signature Global Business Experience. In this program, students take on consulting roles working for actual international organizations or Fortune 500 companies. In the spring, student teams travel to their respective client\u2019s country\u2014in 2025, these included Kenya, Spain, and Singapore\u2014to gain firsthand experience working in a global consulting and management setting. After the participating students return to campus, they present the stories and takeaways from their experiences to their classmates at the school\u2019s Global Business Conference. Since the Global Business Experience&#8217;s inception, more than 9,300 students have taken part in more than 1,700 projects.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div class=\"entry\">\n<div class=\"entry\">\n<p>Just four miles away from Georgetown, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/business.gwu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>George Washington University School of Business<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0offers a similarly international MBA experience\u2014in fact, the program is titled\u00a0\u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/business.gwu.edu\/academics\/programs\/mba\/global-mba\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Global MBA<\/strong><\/a>.\u201d During the first year of the program, students take such core courses as \u201cMicroeconomics for the World Economy\u201d and \u201cCompetition in the Global Economy\u201d before taking part in the Consulting Abroad Program, during which all Global MBA students spend seven weeks preparing on campus in Washington, DC, and then two weeks abroad in the partner company\u2019s country. In 2025, destinations included Sweden and the United Arab Emirates.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, Global MBA students have the option of enrolling in one of the school\u2019s graduate and professional certificate programs\u2014such certificates as \u201cGlobal Management\u201d and \u201cCulture Heritage Tourism\u201d may be of interest to those hoping to focus on international experiences.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Georgetown University\u2019s McDonough School of Business features a global emphasis in its full-time MBA curriculum.
