However, the educational experience you will have is what is crucial to your future, and no one will affect your education more than your professors. Today, we profile<strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/som.yale.edu\/barry-nalebuff\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong><em>Barry Nalebuff<\/em><\/strong><\/a><em>\u00a0from the Yale School of Management (SOM).<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Perhaps best known as one of the founders of Honest Tea,\u00a0<strong>Barry Nalebuff<\/strong>\u00a0is the Milton Steinbach Professor of Management at the Yale SOM. An expert in game theory and strategy, Nalebuff has been a professor at the SOM since 1989. A second year told mbaMission that in the classroom, Nalebuff \u201cis a favorite for his sharp wit and insights.\u201d Nalebuff is also an accomplished author with more than 400,000 copies in print. His book\u00a0<em>The Art of Strategy: A Game Theorist\u2019s Guide to Success in Business and Life<\/em>\u00a0(W.W. Norton &amp; Co., 2008), for example, explores how almost all interactions\u2014business and personal alike\u2014have a game theory component. Nalebuff\u2019s new book, <em>Split the Pie: A Radical New Way to Negotiate<\/em> (Harper Business), explores the art of negotiation and will be released in March 2022.<\/p>\n<p>Nalebuff and Adam Brandenburger, a professor of business economics and strategy at New York University\u2019s Stern School of Business, developed the concept of a new business strategy called \u201cco-opetition,\u201d which they write about in the book\u00a0<em>Co-Opetition: A Revolutionary Mindset That Combines Competition and Cooperation: The Game Theory Strategy That\u2019s Changing the Game of Business<\/em>\u00a0(Crown Business, 1997). The\u00a0book\u2019s listing on Amazon.com describes co-opetition as \u201ca business strategy that goes beyond the old rules of competition and cooperation to combine the advantages of both.\u00a0<em>Co-opetition\u00a0<\/em>is a pioneering, high profit means of leveraging business relationships.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A first year noted in a\u00a0<em>SOM Community Blog<\/em> post, \u201cProf. Nalebuff never misses an opportunity to illustrate the ways in which companies can cooperate to grow the PIE (potential industry earnings).
