However, the educational experience you will have is what is crucial to your future, and no one will affect your education more than your professors. Today, we focus on\u00a0<\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/som.yale.edu\/sharon-m-oster\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Sharon Oster<\/strong><\/a><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><em>from the Yale School of Management.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>A second-year student we interviewed at the Yale School of Management (SOM) remarked that\u00a0<strong>Sharon Oster<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cloves teaching almost more than [she loved] being dean!\u201d Oster, who served as dean from 2008 to 2011, is the Frederic D. Wolfe Professor of Management and Entrepreneurship, and she taught \u201cBasics of Economics,\u201d part of the school\u2019s first-year core curriculum, for several years. In recent years, Oster has taught the elective course \u201cStrategic Management of Nonprofit Organizations,\u201d titled after Oster\u2019s 1995 book.<\/p>\n<p>Oster\u2019s expertise lies in economics and nonprofit management. She is the author of several widely used business school textbooks, including\u00a0<em>Modern Competitive Analysis<\/em>, and has co-authored introductory economics texts such as\u00a0<em>Principles of Microeconomics<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em>Principles of Economics<\/em>\u00a0(both with Karl E. Case and Ray C. Fair).
