Here is what caught our eye this week:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mbamission.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Wharton-horizontal.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-18325 size-thumbnail\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mbamission.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Wharton-horizontal-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"In Other News; The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania will offer a new online specialization - mbaMission\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania will offer a new online specialization, titled \u201cBusiness Analytics,\u201d the school <a href=\"http:\/\/globenewswire.com\/news-release\/2015\/09\/01\/765195\/10147823\/en\/Wharton-School-to-Offer-New-Business-Analytics-Specialization-on-Coursera-Online-Learning-Platform.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">announced recently<\/a>. The specialization, which will begin its first course on September 15, is part of the Business Foundation series that is currently available to students through the Coursera online learning platform. The school will offer four courses in the Business Analytics specialization: \u201cPeople Analytics,\u201d \u201cAccounting Analytics,\u201d \u201cCustomer Analytics,\u201d and \u201cOperations Analytics.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Harvard Business School (HBS) is well known for its extensive and largely successful alumni pool, but one field filled with HBS grads could be a surprise: fashion. Such fashion entrepreneurs as Gilt cofounder Alexandra Wilkis Wilson and Rent the Runway bosses Jennifer Fleiss and Jennifer Hyman graduated from HBS, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.boston.com\/jobs\/news\/2015\/08\/31\/harvard-business-school-unlikely-hotbed-for-fashion-entrepreneurs\/k04ArB0FvXIzfX2KgzGFmJ\/story.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Boston.com reports<\/a>. \u201cHaving access to genius [HBS] professors who had run retail businesses or large logistics-intensive operations was invaluable,\u201d Fleiss commented in the article.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is a polarizing figure, but his alma mater is undoubtedly prestigious\u2014the real estate mogul graduated from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1968 with a Bachelor of Science degree in economics. \u201cI\u2019m going to be the king of New York real estate,\u201d he announced to one of his classes in true Trump style, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bostonglobe.com\/news\/nation\/2015\/08\/28\/donald-trump-was-bombastic-even-wharton-business-school\/3FO0j1uS5X6S8156yH3YhL\/story.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the <em>Boston Globe<\/em> reports<\/a>. Trump, whose former classmates describe him as \u201cdifferent\u201d and \u201ca little into himself,\u201d would flip houses in Philadelphia throughout his time at Wharton.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>MBA hopefuls tend to use persistent stereotypes of business schools to help them decide where to apply. \u201cIf I want to work in marketing, I\u2019ll go to Kellogg,\u201d one might think. If that is the case, those hoping to work at Facebook should pay attention: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/best-schools-to-get-a-job-at-facebook-2015-10\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Business Insider<\/a> took a closer look at the company\u2019s staff and compiled its findings into a list of the 20 most widely represented schools.
