Today, we focus on\u00a0<strong>Raymond Fisman<\/strong>\u00a0from Columbia Business School (CBS).<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-11410\" style=\"margin: 5px;\" title=\"Raymond Fisman\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mbamission.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/Raymond-Fisman.jpg\" alt=\"Raymond Fisman, Columbia Business School\" width=\"189\" height=\"249\" align=\"right\" \/>Ranked among \u201cThe Best 40 B-School Profs Under the Age of 40\u201d by <a href=\"http:\/\/poetsandquants.com\/2011\/02\/20\/best-prof-raymond-fisman\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Poets&amp;Quants<\/a>, Raymond Fisman (\u201cThe Private Sector &amp; International Development\u201d and \u201cManagerial Economics\u201d)\u00a0is best known for taking a somewhat unique behavioral angle to his research, examining what he calls \u201ceconomic gangsters.\u201d Fisman\u2019s book <em>Economic Gangsters: Corruption, Violence, and the Poverty of Nations<\/em> (Princeton University Press, 2008) reexamines the term \u201cgangster\u201d alongside the opportunistic context of global economic development. In addition to contributing a monthly column to <em>Slate<\/em> magazine, Fisman has had his work featured in publications as varied as <em>The New York Times<\/em>, <em>al Jazeera<\/em>\u00a0and <em>Shanghai Daily<\/em>. Poets &amp; Quants quotes a student from the Class of 2005, who says that Fisman \u201cshows you how economics can be used to parse a wide variety of complex business and public policy issues.
