Today, we focus on\u00a0<strong>Joseph Stiglitz<\/strong>\u00a0from Columbia Business School.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-10340\" style=\"margin: 5px;\" title=\"Joseph Stiglitz\" src=\"https:\/\/www.mbamission.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/Joseph-Stiglitz.jpg\" alt=\"Joseph Stiglitz, Columbia Business School\" width=\"150\" height=\"200\" align=\"right\" \/>A 2001 winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics and a member of the National Academy of Science, <strong>Joseph Stiglitz\u00a0<\/strong>(\u201cGlobalization and Markets and the Changing Economic Landscape\u201d [EMBA])\u00a0is executive director and founder of the Initiative for Policy Dialogue at Columbia University. Before joining the Columbia Business School (CBS) faculty in 2001, Stiglitz was chief economist for the World Bank (1997\u20132000) and a member of the U.S. Council of Economic Advisors under President William J. Clinton (1993\u20131997), serving as the council\u2019s chairman from 1995 to 1997. Stiglitz is the creator of a branch of economics called \u201cEconomics of Information,\u201d whose central concept\u2014which examines how intuitions such as the stock market process and relate information\u2014helped earn Stiglitz the Nobel Prize. He has authored a number of books, the most recent of which is entitled <em>Freefall: America, Free Markets, and the Sinking of the World Economy<\/em><strong> <\/strong>(W.W.
