MBA News: Stanford GSB Launches Retirement and Pension MOOC

Citing the “explosive growth in education technology, including online courses,” the Stanford GSB has been increasingly embracing high-tech educational tools. Starting this October, the GSB will launch its first MOOC (massive open online course), titled “Finance of Retirement and Pensions” and taught by professor of finance Joshua Rauh. The eight-week class will reportedly focus on “the concepts behind sound retirement plan investment and pension fund management and how to be a more informed decision maker on your own personal portfolio.” Although “taking the course will not help or hinder your chances of being admitted to the MBA program,” it may give you a taste of elite business school education and exposure to a GSB faculty member. You can register for the free online course here.
