MBA News: Social Currency Ranking Featured on Bloomberg Businessweek

We have been tallying and charting the mentions of MBA students and alumni in the New York Times wedding announcements since the beginning of the year, demonstrating that MBAs—especially those from top-ranked, Northeastern schools—have a curious prominence among the featured newlyweds. Last week, Bloomberg Businessweek shared our Social Currency Ranking, quoting mbaMission President and Founder Jeremy Shinewald and pointing out that the reason so many MBAs from schools such as Harvard and Wharton land in the Times wedding announcements (which are selected by its editors and are not purchased) remains unclear. “Is it the school or the individual? It’s probably a combination of both,” Shinewald says.
