MBA News: Lang Center at CBS Launches New Entrepreneurs Lab

Following the success of the Columbia Business Lab—a shared office space for alumni entrepreneurs that launched in downtown Manhattan in 2012—Columbia Business School’s (CBS’s) Eugene Lang Entrepreneurship Center announced this week the creation of the Columbia Entrepreneurs Lab, which will be located within the school’s Morningside campus. Beginning this summer, more than a dozen CBS start-ups with various technological and consumer product applications will be using the new facility’s office space and mentorship offerings.

The lab will be offered free of charge to CBS students and alumni and is designed to facilitate a collaborative environment for innovative ventures. Describing the initiative, Murray Low, director of the Lang Center, stated, “Our goal in launching the lab was to provide a cooperative space that could serve as an incubator to some of the many impactful ideas housed in the minds of Columbia community members.” CBS has also released descriptions of each of the ventures in the lab’s inaugural class, which can be found here.
