B-School Chart of the Week: How Many of the Most Powerful Women in Banking Are MBAs?

Although quantifying a school’s profile certainly does not tell you everything, it can sometimes be helpful in simplifying the many differences between the various MBA programs. Each week, we bring you a chart to help you decide which of the schools’ strengths speak to you.

Although banking can be a notoriously difficult industry for women, American Banker proves that increasingly, female executives are making their mark. The publication’s 11th annual ranking of “The Most Powerful Women in Banking” showcases women who have risen to senior level positions in the industry: “These women are driving results at their institutions and paving the way for the female talent behind them.”

How did these individuals rise to the top? By our count, 11 of these 25 influential female bankers—nearly half—hold MBAs.
