When you select an MBA program, you are not just choosing your learning environment, but are also making a commitment to a community. Each Thursday, we offer a window into life “beyond the MBA classroom” at a top business school.
Each year, approximately 100 first-year students and a handful of second years at UCLA Anderson participate in a ski and snowboarding trip at the end of winter quarter. In past years, students have spent approximately five days in Whistler Blackcomb, Vancouver, but in 2010, the ski trip was to Breckenridge, Colorado. This 2010 trip to Breckenridge was so successful, in fact, that the group returned to Colorado in both 2011 and 2012. One first-year student we interviewed simply stated, “I feel bad for everyone who did not go on the Breckenridge ski trip.”
