MBA News: Venture for America Profiled on NYT Blog

Andrew Yang, former CEO of Manhattan GMAT and now founder of Venture for America (VFA) was profiled this morning in the New York Times blog, discussing his new nonprofit and his vision for an economy spurred by young entrepreneurs.  VFA (mbaMission Founder Jeremy Shinewald is a board member) seeks to break the hold that banks and consulting firms have on top undergraduate talent and get upcoming graduates engaged in start-ups around the United States—particularly in economically beleaguered cities such as Detroit and Providence. Why is this MBA news? Well, VFA hopes that many of its fellows will find homes with their start-ups or continue on to launch start-ups of their own, but VFA just also might be the “cool” differentiator on a resume, should you want that MBA down the road.
