New in 2010–2011, the Blind Date program at the Stanford Graduate School of Business is designed to help students meet and get to know more of their classmates. “You sign up to say, for example, I’m available for coffee at the following times and want to meet two new people. Then an algorithm matches people,” explained a first year with whom mbaMission spoke. “You might know them, you might not, but it’s a good way to meet people. I now know 250–300 people in my class, in just eight months. This was a student-initiated activity by one guy in the class [of 2012] who knows computer programming and is very social.”
