MBA News: Saturday EMBA Program Begins at Columbia Business School

Late last year, Columbia Business School announced that it would be starting the first Saturday-only Executive MBA (EMBA) program, or at least the first to be offered by a top business school. The school’s inaugural Saturday-only EMBA class, slated to graduate in May 2013, has just started its first year, so you may be interested in a few facts about the program. The students have an average age of 31, three years higher than that of students in Columbia’s full-time MBA program, and 20% already hold advanced degrees—which means this is an older and more experienced crew. The EMBA Saturday program runs for six terms and involves the same curriculum and number of credits as Columbia’s full-time MBA program, but students can pursue their degree without taking time off of work or gaining employer sponsorship.
