MBA News: HBS 2+2 Program Acceptance Rate Falls

As reported by The Crimson today, Harvard Business School’s acceptance rate of 12% for its 2+2 Program this year is the lowest rate since the program’s inception three years ago, and a drop of 2% from last year. Only 100 college seniors were admitted to the 2015 cohort, out of the 828 who applied to this special program which allows college juniors to be “preaccepted” and then work for two years before matriculating. (Note: These students often come from undergraduate majors in engineering, hard sciences, humanities, social sciences and other “non-traditional” business school backgrounds.) Next fall marks a big year for the program: the first cohort admitted in the fall of 2008 will be entering HBS as the Class of 2013, and the efficacy of this unique program will be judged by students and administrators alike.
