MBA News: Dean Nohria on Harvard Business School‘s Two Footprints

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Dean Nitin Nohria explained that despite surging demand for MBA education in Asia, HBS would maintain “a small physical footprint” with only one campus in the US and a large “intellectual footprint” with small research centers around the world.  Dean Nohria summed up his philosophy, telling the Journal, “We are in the business of chasing knowledge, not chasing demand.” MBA applicants would probably appreciate hiws comments on meritocratic admissions — Nohria told the journal that 40% of HBS class is international, but that there are no targets at all and that the school is simply after the best students.
