MBA News: 2+2 Students Begin to Crowd the HBS Pool

This morning, the Harvard Crimson provided a variety of statistics on Harvard Business School’s 2+2 admissions program—statistics that will likely give so called “older” candidates fits. HBS received 630 applications from college juniors seeking to enter its new 2+2 program—a program that provides two years of professional training and career coaching, along with a guaranteed place in the HBS class (after the student completes the professional component) to rising college seniors. HBS accepted 106 MBA candidates—22 of whom were Harvard undergraduates—a 17% admissions rate, higher than its overall rate of 14%. So, looking forward, approximately one out of every nine places in the Class of 2013 has already been spoken for. Maybe now isn’t such a bad time to apply after all?
