The Quest for 700: Weekly GMAT Challenge (Answer)

Yesterday, Integrated Learning posted a 700 level GMAT question on our blog. Today, they have followed up with the answer:

Correct answer:  C

The information in Statement (1) is insufficient because we do not know anything about the other 4 faces of the cube. For the same reason, the information in Statement (2) is insufficient. We do not know anything about the other 2 faces. The combined information tells us about each face of the cube, so we can determine what percentage of the cube is black. Therefore, the information in both statements is sufficient to answer the question.
