The Quest for 700: Weekly GMAT Challenge (Answer)

Yesterday, Integrated Learning posted a 700 level GMAT question on our blog. Today, they have followed up with the answer:

Correct answer: E

Using the information in Statements (1) and (2), we can determine how much more labor is involved in painting the room with Paint Y as opposed to Paint X. However, we are not told what the labor rate is, so we cannot calculate the cost of labor to add to the cost of each paint. Therefore, the information is not sufficient to determine which paint would be cheaper to apply.
