Wharton, IMD, LBS Admit writes to prospective client who had asked for a referral:

Your consultant will brainstorm with you through your experiences and will advise you on which experience will be the most appropriate for a particular essay. He will help you bring out experiences that you may otherwise consider irrelevant. My consultant helped me work through the main ideas I needed to include in each of the essays. I drafted the essays myself a few times, and I sent each draft version for review. My consultant always reviewed my draft versions within 48 hrs from sending them, which is excellent, especially because I always worked too close deadlines... I personally liked the fact that he let me "own" the essay (rather than writing it for me) and, at the same time, he "guided" me step by step till we both would get to what we considered a great essay. I saw the massive benefits of "owning" my essay and in the same time having someone experienced teaching me to write it: in my interviews, when my interviewers actually asked me to speak in detail about the experiences described in my application essays, I was really prepared. My consultant had exceptional knowledge of what each school is looking for in my essays and had excellent wording of the essays and CV. In the end, I was admitted to all three of the top 10 schools that I applied to. On top of this, I learned to write better.

Chicago admit writes to prospective client who had asked for a referral:

From the beginning I was impressed by the passion and intensity. Before I paid a nickel, Jeremy was spewing advice on the phone and getting me thinking about my applications differently than I had before. Two days later, I had completed hours of brainstorming and knew where I was headed and more importantly just felt confident about my direction. When my schedule permitted, I wrote my essays and was impressed with the response time, but more with how thorough and thoughtful the comments were. The comments were not just criticisms, but were helpful suggestion and new ways of looking at my experience. The edits were comprehensive and remarkable and so my essays came together much quicker than I could have imagined. I was amazed that as I went along, I could anticipate certain comments and actually became better at this process. I started to understand the amount of detail to provide, learned to create climactic events in my stories and as Jeremy would say "always ensure flow". Jeremy's advice was not only consistent, thorough and creative in my essays, but across the board. I have no doubt that every aspect of my application was a strong as it could have been.

I can't begin to tell you how fortunate I feel to have gained admission (to HBS), especially since it was my only application. You had faith in my candidacy even though I was doubtful from the beginning and were so proactive in keeping me going – without your phone calls to motivate another draft and the deadlines that you basically forced me to meet, I never would have finished. Without your help, I never would have considered those options for essay two, never would have even understood that insane essay four and definitely would not have come up with (topic deleted) for essay six. You made my strengths shine through and definitely was prepared for the ups and downs of my interview, for that I am always grateful. I just did not have the perspective on my candidacy and still find it hard to believe that I am Harvard material.

Kellogg, Haas, UCLA, and UT Austin! 4 for 5 and exceeded even my most optimistic projections thanks in no small part to the personal attention you provided me throughout the process. Your ability to understand people, specifically your willingness to learn what makes me unique -- my personal competitive advantage to my target schools -- helped me effectively communicate what it is I had to offer those programs. Your strategies were bang-on and your attitude and professionalism were top-notch. The landscape is flooded with consultants, but I felt confident, after receiving the glowing personal recommendation from [former client's name omitted], that you would deliver. And I obviously wasn't disappointed. Thanks again! You are truly a standout.

A few months back, after successfully passing the GMAT barrier I was contemplating whether to go through the MBA applications process by myself. Luckily I met you at one of the many forums I attended and was immediately impressed by your approach to the MBA process. I have no doubt in my mind that I would not have been accepted to Wharton without your extreme dedication, wise remarks and endless patience in explaining where I needed improvement. Brain-storming on the phone for over three hours ; reviewing numerous drafts of my essays till I got it right and preparing me for the final interview are just a few of the things that come to mind when I think of how you helped me out. Above all your talent in synthesizing the strongest stories from both my personal and professional background and assisting me in constructing a unique application plays a great part in my final results.

First, let me update you. I have been accepted to Darden which was the preferred one from the get go. I guess that with a GPA of 2.3, getting accepted to a top business school is an accomplishment in every way you look at it, but more because I started the whole process much too late (because I didn't even know that I would apply this year). Over the course of the last year that we have worked together I have really enjoyed our meetings and talks. You have always given me the information and answers I needed, even though I know that I was a tough and demanding client. Your strategic outlook and advice have made it possible for me to get accepted. I am sure that we will keep in touch, and I intend to continue to refer people to you. It was a hard job to make my application look like a whole entity – and you have pulled it through. Never have I worked with someone as articulate in English. I see it as a privilege that you have shared your time and wisdom with me; in the most stressful of conditions that I have put you in (mmm... here is my essay... I know it takes a day to work on it... I need remarks in an hour... sounds familiar???). Anyway, you helped express my ideas, wants and passions in ways that I could not, being an international and a far less talented a person in words, as I am.

I wanted to let you know that this weekend I received my first 2 application status notifications, which informed me that I was admitted to both Harvard and Columbia. Columbia offered me a $20,000 tuition discount and Harvard will not let me know about financial aid till mid April. I thank you a lot for your fruitful efforts and will be happy to meet you when you are in [location omitted] soon.

Great news, got into Wharton! The best Christmas present I could receive. Needless to say, your help has been invaluable, I think I wouldn't have been able to shape my application so well without your guidance. Reading 'Admit' on the website was a spectacular emotion and it came down to your help!

I understand school's concerns that consultants can give an unfair advantage, but in my case, I really felt that you made the process quite fair. You educated me on what I needed to do and gave me the structure and creative inspiration to get it done. I definitely would not be on my way to Wharton without you. You just helped Wharton get a future business-leader that they otherwise would not have had. They should appreciate that as much as I do.

All the waiting and the agony was worth it. In at Wharton Round 1. I can't believe it. I honestly don't believe I could have done it without your help. All the edits and re-edits to get the message just right. You were relentless and it paid off big time. I will be sending my brother your way when he is ready to apply.

I found out this afternoon that I've been admitted to Columbia! 4 applications – 4 admits -- unbelievable!!! While I paid the deposit to Yale last week, I'm all but certain that I'm going to accept the Columbia offer. I may have had some success on my own, but without question, there is no way in hell I would have had this much success without your help. My only regret right now is that I didn't listen to you about Harvard and Wharton... Thanks again for everything, I'll be in touch.

I only realize now that your help made all the difference for me. Working on my own, I managed a 33% success rate (applying to less selective programs). I am lucky that I sought your help on the one school that was my number one choice, Columbia.

You know that I have always felt very positively about our work, but now that is all over, it was more than the creativity and the quality. Your constant availability and desire to keep going, keep working and push me really made the difference. It may sound corny, but I felt like we were getting this done together and that kept me focused and really allowed me to progress under a lot of pressure. It wasn't just the essays. It really was everything: the interview prep, the resume and more the confidence from knowing that I was on the right track. Thanks for everything.

I want to inform you that I've been accepted at MIT. Frankly, I blew my GMAT and wasn't very hopeful. I was surprised again in my life. Thanks for your help and stay in touch!

Just got the call from Yale, I'm in!!! I guess that wait list letter really struck a chord on the adcom considering it's the only additional piece of info I submitted during the 17 days I was on it. I can't thank you enough for your help, it really made a difference. I'll be in touch soon.

I am definitely glad I hired you to help me with my essays. Besides making me actively making me focus on my essays, you were able to help me clearly convey what I was attempting to say. The process gave the essays more structure and I definitely think that they are much better now because of your help. Thanks again and thanks for the quick turnaround and working with me on such a close deadline.

First choice in Canada and now first choice in the U.S... Kellogg! Not bad at all for three weeks of intense work. We obviously got the right message across. Thanks for your support, guidance and insight.

Plain and simple: I am in shock. Thank you and my wife thanks you too. We can't wait to move to Chicago and get started... It would not be an exaggeration to say that you changed my life. You will definitely be hearing from my brother next year.

I could not have gotten into Wharton without your help. While I had my essay ideas in my head, you really solidified them into a truly compelling story. After reading one of the completed essays for the first time, I could not believe that it was actually what I had imagined. It sounded so much more exciting than I had originally thought of it. Thanks again for everything.

You can add another acceptance to your list... I got into Darden last week! Your batting average just got even better. With such a late start in May, I really surprised myself. I have some pretty strong opinions after hearing some of my friends' "essay consultant" stories and feel that you have a far more helpful and beneficial way of doing things.

Coming from Germany, I had no idea what to do and what results I could expect. I was so happy to hear from Haas. What great news. I must thank you for all of your help this year!

I just got into Duke. With Texas and Darden, that makes three. Thanks again! I couldn't have done it without your help. Now comes the hard part – Darden or Duke? Let me know a good time to call because I would like to get your perspective.

I am actually telling you before my husband and parents. I just got into Stern. Will a simple thank you do? It does not feel like enough after all that work we did, but...Thank you!
