In 2010, when Kaplan asked mbaMission to help launch its Road to Business School events worldwide by offering our “Writing Effective Essays” presentation online and in several major cities across the country, we knew we had to bring our A game. We saw this special opportunity as a chance to win over the preeminent name in the test-prep field internationally. Jeremy Shinewald, mbaMission’s founder and president, therefore led each presentation personally and met with participants one-on-one to ensure that all their questions had been addressed.

We won some fans—traffic to our Web site surged—and gained some new clients, who then told Kaplan’s leadership about their positive experiences with our firm. In 2011, we joined forces with Kaplan again, helping launch the company’s Road to Business School series in London and several other cities. Today, we are the only admissions consulting firm to which Kaplan refers its students, because its leaders have personally witnessed mbaMission’s straightforward, thoughtful, hands-on approach to business school admissions and our commitment to our clients.

Our relationship is now so strong that Kaplan endorses our Complete Start-to-Finish MBA Admissions Guide—one of our firm’s great honors—and we send this guide, free of charge, to each and every one of Kaplan’s clients around the world. We also continue to co-host numerous events online and in-person every year, with the mutual goal of providing the best pre-MBA preparation possible to Kaplan’s students.

Kaplan GMAT’s story began in 1938, when Stanley Kaplan started tutoring students in the basement of his parents’ home in Brooklyn. Stanley Kaplan was convinced that with the right preparation, people could improve their scores on standardized tests and open doors to colleges and universities that may have otherwise been shut. He committed himself to mastering and teaching the SAT, LSAT, MCAT… and over 40 years ago, he set his sights on the GMAT. Since then, Kaplan GMAT has prepared thousands of students for the GMAT, helping them achieve their goal of getting into top business schools.
