MBA News: New York Times Critiques MBA

In this morning’s New York Times, Kelley Holland asks “Is it Time to Retrain B-Schools?”  Of course, if her answer were “No,” she would have nothing to write about. Ms. Holland reiterates themes that arose after the Enron crisis, when the MBA came under attack for teaching students to maximize shareholder value (ignoring other stakeholders in society). Although little is new in her critique, the article is a worthwhile reminder of the potential flaws in MBA education.
