MBA News: Wharton Waitlist Update

Wharton’s Admissions Committee recently updated its blog with a note to all of its waitlisted candidates. While candidates may find the AdCom’s refusal to accept any updates from candidates (even updates that are material, like a promotion) to be frustrating, Wharton is stating that they are doing so in the interest of fairness. The AdCom is attempting to level the playing field and eliminate scenarios wherein candidates take risks to standout and thus live and die by their waitlist choices, instead of by their candidacies.
